We decided before our kids were even born that we wanted to keep Christmas gifts low key to tamp down on the commercialism of the season and allow our kids to focus on Christ. That said, I like making gifts for the kids and this may be the first year I actually complete that feat before Christmas Eve.For my oldest, I’m working on some crochet footies. He specifically asked for blue and brown “yarn socks.”I finished one, but I don’t like how it turned out and may scrap it and actually switch to a different pattern for that project. For my daughter, I decided to make her a pink bunny ear hat like Louise’s from Bob’s Burgers.I didn’t find a solid pattern I liked so I combined a few. I had her try it on to gauge size and she was reluctant to give it back.
I still have to make and attach the 2nd ear, but so far, so good.
I’m not sure what to do for either my youngest son or new baby girl. Or my husband for that matter, but it is only October. So there’s time. Hopefully the projects keep coming together.
That’s awesome! Homemade Christmas presents are the best. They are so much more personal!
