Pepper Day!

Indoor seeding of the peppers happened this afternoon.

I had initially planned to do it Sunday, but true to form, I procrastinated. I promise I’m trying to break that horrendous habit.

Anyway, here’s how it went down:

I used 12 pack soda boxes as my planters because truthfully, buying the peat pots didn’t increase my yield any, so I figure, why not use what I already have?

The rubber bands on the boxes are just to keep the sides from bowing out. They were saved from asparagus bunches.

The labels are from a cut up sour cream container. The lid of which I turned into a makeshift counting cross stitch hoop.

The coral bell, early jalapeno, Anaheim chili, and big Jim seeds I purchased from MIgardener, and the cayenne I saved myself last year.

Here’s looking forward to a healthy crop of peppers this year!

  1. Best of luck to you! Peppers are always something we struggle with growing… Last year we tried the milk jug method but did not have the best results. I’d like to try and setup some sort of grow light situation but just haven’t been able to find the time for it.

    1. I completely understand, timing is everything! Last year one hot day scorched all my transplants. This year, had my husband not come home on his lunch hour to set up the grow light for me, I wouldn’t have had the time to plant.
