My husband and I have been praying on starting a business to help sustain our animal feed costs.
The answer I got came from Proverbs 31:18:
She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night.
That among other passages of scripture and much time in prayer led us to decide yes, we would start a small market gardening business.
Once we decided to move forward, we had to come up with a name.
Drum roll……
Shaggy Maple Homestead
We chose that name based on the numerous maple trees around our property and the shaggy nature of the Highland cattle and Scotish black face sheep. It was just a good fit.
Now for our logo:
Our “slogan” is…
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed are they who trust in Him.
Psalm 34:8
This was one of the passages of scripture that God sent to me as I was praying for our business and a means to share our testimony of how and why we started Back to Eden gardening and our desire for people to experience fresh unadulterated produce and herbs. It really is something that you have to trust God in order to experience; no pesticides or chemical fertilizers means complete reliance on God to provide and protect our crops and to multiply our harvest.
God really has answered my prayers and I continue to wait on His guidance for all of our decisions. I couldn’t be more pleased with how He is working up to this point, and God deserves all the glory!
We pray the LORD will continue to guide and bless our endeavors as we seek his leadership in this fledgeling stage of our business.
